The project started from the brief: designing a modular piece of furniture. We conducted visual and conceptual research, drawing inspiration from brands like Vitra and IKEA, focusing on modular structures, soft lighting, and customizable elements.
Flow by Core
Flow is a prototype lamp featuring sleek, dynamic lines that evoke a sense of harmonious movement.
Brief Analysis
Exploring references and defining modularity
Module Development
Sketching and experimenting with physical forms
We developed and compared various module designs through sketches and paper prototypes. These were then tested using plastic models to evaluate stability, adaptability, and aesthetic potential.
Concept Definition
Material selection and structural logic
We refined the product’s structure into a modular cylindrical lamp, combining clean, flowing lines with technical efficiency. The lamp is suspended using steel wires, creating a lightweight, balanced, and elegant composition.
Prototyping
Material selection and assembling
After evaluating multiple options, we finalized the concept by using matte polycarbonate for the modules and an M3 screw/bolt system for assembly. Due to technical limitations, all 102 pieces were manually produced to ensure precision.
